1. Casper

This film is based on the Casper the Friendly Ghost comics and came out in 1995.

This version is about a kind ghost who falls in love with a ghost specialist’s daughter after they arrive to study the haunted mansion.

Casper has three uncles who cause a lot of trouble for the pair!

2.  It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

If you are looking for scary Halloween movies, you will never find this one on those lists.

This classic Halloween movie follows the Peanuts characters as they celebrate Halloween and Linus as he awaits the arrival of The Great Pumpkin.

3.  Hotel Transylvania

Monsters need a vacation sometimes too and Hotel Transylvania is where they can go to really let loose.

Count Dracula owns this resort and invites his crew of monster friends to relax and celebrate his daughter’s birthday. Festivities get complicated when a human crashes the party!

4.  Super Monsters Save Halloween

These little monsters try to get their human neighbors ready and excited for Halloween!

5.  Coco

Real estate agent Jim Evers takes his family on a family vacation.   On the way, they decide to stop at a house the realtor has been asked to sell.

18.  Halloweentown

A young girl named Marnie has always felt different. Her intuition is proven true and she discovers that she is a witch after a visit from her grandmother on Halloween.

Three young teens believe a creepy neighborhood house to be alive and dangerous.

While these movies wouldn’t be considered scary movies, these might be better for older kids. Or you might have a young one who loves spooky stuff!

The trio is awoken on Halloween night after being asleep for hundreds of years and goes on a hunt to capture the children of Salem in order to extend their youth and beauty.

22.  Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

Harry Potter grew up with his very normal Aunt and Uncle only to discover that he is a wizard on his eleventh birthday.

In this Harry Potter movie, Harry is finally able to discover the wonderful world of magic that has been hidden from him his entire life when he starts attending school at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Not everything is perfect as he discovers some dark secrets about his history that are making their way into the present.

23.  The Nightmare Before Christmas

Jack Skellington is Hallweentown’s revered Pumpkin King and he is bored of his same old spooky routine.

The task of frightening humans just does not excite him anymore so he goes on an adventure to discover something new and get him excited about life.

He stumbles upon Christmastown- the opposite of the world he has always been apart of. In Christmas town there’s a different guy in charge – Santa Claus.

24.  The Little Vampire

The Little Vampire is a good Halloween movie for anyone who loves vampires!

A young human named Tony makes friends with a young vampire named Rudolph.

They go on an adventure to find an ancient amulet that can make Rudolph and his family’s dream come true — it can make them human again.
