Snowflake, Snowflake
(By Little Learning Corner)
Snowflake, snowflake,
Shining in the sky.
Snowflake, snowflake,
Twirling as you go by.
Snowflake, snowflake,
You’re one of a kind.
Snowflake, snowflake,
Oh, I wish you were mine.
Snowball
(By Shel Silverstein)
I made myself a snowball,
as perfect as could be.
I thought I’d keep it as a pet,
and let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas,
and a pillow for its head.
Then last night, it ran away.
But first, it wet the bed!

Ten Little Snowmen
(By Little Learning Corner)

Three little snowmen.
Four little, five little,
six little snowmen.
Eight little, nine little,
Ten little snowmen
Playing at night.
Chubby Little Snowman
A chubby little snowman
had a carrot nose.
Along came a rabbit,
and what do you suppose?
That hungry little bunny
looking for his lunch,
ATE the snowman’s carrot nose…
Nibble, nibble, CRUNCH!
You can’t have Winter poems for kids without a chubby little snowman. This snowman poem will make you want to keep the rabbits away.

Simply print the word cards and watch as they work together to build and read these familiar Winter Poems. I loved watching the kids have fun reading and working together. So much so that I even hung a pocket chart at my house for my daughter to do them at home.
Great Big Snowman
I’m a great big snowman,
tall and fat.
Here is my tummy.
Here is my hat.
Raisins for my eyes,
and a carrot nose.
I’m all snow from head to toe!
Every child needs a great big snowman poem in their poetry notebook. This printable poem would be a great way to integrate how-to writing; How to Build a Snowman.
Sing along to the tune of “I’m a Little Teapot”; making this an excellent Snowman song for kids. There is something magical about snow.
I’m a Little Snowman
I’m a little snowman,
short and fat.
Here is my scarf,
and here is my hat.
When it’s cold and snowy,
I will stay.
But when it gets hot,
I melt away.
Make a little snowman, leave it out in the cold, observe, and record what happens. Make another little snowman (3″ high is all you need), and bring him inside where it’s nice and warm.

Five Little Snowmen
(By Little Learning Corner)
Five little snowmen sitting on a hill.
The first one said, “Wake up, it’s time to play”.
The second one said, “Let’s roll on the ground”.
The third one said, “Don’t fall down”.
The fourth one said, “Let’s run and run and run”.
The fifth one said, “I think I feel the sun”.
And five melting snowmen had enough fun.
Funny Poems About Winter

Five Little Hats
(By Little Learning Corner)
Five little hats hanging on the wall.
Which is the warmest of all?
The first one has stripes of blue.
The second one is yellow and new.
The third one looks like a fuzzy cat.
The fourth one is a frog hat.
The fifth one is soft and red.
Now, it’s time to put one on my head.
Bring in a collection of winter hats for kids to put on while reciting the poem, and they will be giggling the whole way through.
It is Winter
(By Little Learning Corner)
-Sung to the tune of Frere Jacques –
It is Winter.
It is Winter.
Let’s go outside!
Let’s go outside!
Fast sleds and snowmen.
Hot cocoa and mittens.
It is Winter.
It is Winter.
When I write short poems, they tend to come to me in song. Both of my daughters can vouge that I sing silly rhymes for everything. Being a kindergarten teacher for so long, it comes naturally.
Winter Animals Poems for Kids
Kids love animals. What better way to incorporate learning about Winter animals than with fun poems and rhymes.
Winter Animals
(Author Unknown)
Winter is cold.
There is snow in the sky.
The squirrel gathers nuts,
And the wild geese fly.
The fluffy red fox
Has his fur to keep warm.
The bear’s in her cave
Sleeping all through the storm.
I’m a Little Penguin
I’m a little penguin,
black and white.
Short and wobbly,
and adorable sight.
I can’t fly at all,
but I love to swim.
So, I’ll waddle in the water,
and dive right in!
