The Best Rock Painting Kit for Kids

Before my daughter and her friend started painting, we came up with a list of kind things to say on the rocks. They came up with words such as love, be kind, smile, happy, and hugs.

The plan was to carefully paint those words onto the rocks, then paint a beautiful picture around the word.

Once they began painting, they were so excited, they forgot to paint the words on the rocks. Classic kids. 🙂

Instead, they started painting mosaics, sunshines, penguins, ladybugs, flowers, smiley faces, and so much more.

Once they were done painting, we set the rocks onto the paper art mat (included) to dry.

After the rocks were dry, we used the foam sponge brushes to paint a coat of mod podge over the rocks.

The mod podge goes on as a creamy white liquid, but dries clear and give the rocks a shiny top-coat.

The following day, the kids and I went for a walk around town. We found places to hide the rocks for others to find. This simple act of kindness is a great way to brighten another’s day. Spreading kindness with rocks is a fun activity for all kids!
