Spring Write the Room
When I think of Spring, I think of new beginnings. Spring, however, is not always the most wonderful time for us teachers. Typically, around Spring, you may be feeling overwhelmed with assessments and managing student behaviors. Rather than letting the negativity weigh you down, change simple habits to avoid teacher burnout, and plan for the students to be engaged in fun learning activities.
I chose to highlight this Spring Write the Room, today, because it keeps the kiddos engaged in learning and helps minimize behavior problems. Write the room is an activity where students are walking around the room, searching for picture cards, and writing words. Rather than being limited to a chair, or even one center area, the kiddos have the freedom to move around the room. This, alone, can help minimize student behavior problems.
Spring Kindergarten Write the Room
Differentiation is a breeze with this leveled prek and kindergarten Spring writing center. Simply choose which level is best for your kiddos, hang the Spring picture word cards around the room, then send them off with a clipboard and a Spring recording sheet. They love to hunt for the familiar pictures. You can read more about how to set up write the room activities, here.

If your kiddos need more a challenge, you can simply print Level 2 (also included in all of my Write the Room resources). With level 2 of this kindergarten Spring writing center, the kidd are searching for pictures based on beginning sounds, rather than simply copying the words. These picture cards DO NOT have the words.
