How to Prep Write the Room:
1. Choose which level your students need.
Level 1: Students locate the vocabulary card around the room, find the matching picture on their recording sheet, and copy the word into the box.

2. Hang the leveled vocabulary cards around the room at eye level.

3. Make copies of the recording sheet.
4. Put clipboards and writing utensils at a designated area.
5. Review the pictures with the students, and model how to complete the activity.
6. Watch as your students suddenly become eager writers – writing words all around the room.
What is Included with Write the Room:
Level 1 includes a silver center sign with kid-friendly instructions, picture cards WITH words, and a recording sheet with matching pictures.
This builds concepts of print, letter formation, vocabulary, and transferring information from print to paper.
How to Organize Write the Room:
You can store and organize your themed writing centers in these beautiful Iris Containers.
For example, I keep the Back to School leveled cards in the pink container, Fall picture cards in the red container, and so forth. Then, I keep all of the recording sheets in a hanging file folder. Yes, in case you’re wondering, I’ve been using these Iris containers for all of my themed center storage. Slight obsession – I take full responsibility!
